The ‘Duelist Series’ is an additional format of the ICS in which participants are able to face other players in a more serious environment. Players are mechanically strong independently for different champions and situations in the game. A 2v2 format does not entirely rely on the same skillset as the 5on5 format does. That’s why there are no restrictions for teams to get a spot in the ‘Duelist Series’ based on pure Elo or rank alone. However, we want to point out that, due to legal protection for minors and privacy, for participants to be able to play in the ‘Duelist Series’ as well as any other event connected to the ICS they need to be at least 16 years old or of legal age, respectively, depending on the particular game.
Essential to the ‘Duelist Series’ is a system that divides the teams into separate groups. The format consists of two stages. The first stage sorts players into different groups. Which players are sorted into which group, is selected randomly. Groups consist of 6 teams each, from which the two best teams will enter the second stage of the tournament. The single elimination format will also be played in a Bo3 format. The finals will be cast. For more information refer to the ‘Master Rulebook’. A season usually takes 9 weeks. The winner of the elimination bracket will be crowned ‘ICS Duelist Champion’ of the respective season.
